Miele TT250 update
EDIT: This slow as heck wireless internet of my neighbour’s is making a sizable dent in my anime addiction. I tried to download the 12th episode of Gundam 00, but then downloading Visual Studio Express, (why the hell does the documentation take up so much space!?), Arch Linux and Partitionmagic (I decided to give a shot at aircrack-ng), Wireshark and all, I just had to put off watching Gundam 00. Usually I don’t mind any internet that’s above 10kb/s, but I’m not moving into the resident’s lounge just because they have internet! Okay back to the subject:
The last you heard of it, I was gushing ridiculous about it.
Well, now, it’s got quite a few more scratches. I think it’s the lock, which is already starting to rust on the inside. I should have put the rubber padded side of the lock on the paintwork instead, it seems. Oh man, it really detracts from the beauty of the bike. Oh well, I just have to make sure that no more paint scratches off it, and I’ll be fine I think.
I really have to clean the chain. Lots of dirt and grime there, which I’ve been washing off by applying liberal sloshes of lube. Apparently that’s not a good thing either. The first gear doesn’t shift up to second… I’ve fallen off the bike a couple times so the derailleurs are probably really off. Then again, I don’t have something to hang my bike on.
The bike stand is rather loose, so the bike slides a little before the little stand finally gains its traction and stops the bike frmo falling over.
The rear brakes are in a horrible shape. One side is closer to the rim than the other, and there’s hardly any stopping power from them anymore. As a result, I keep on using the front brake… which probably isn’t that great now either, come to think of it. The handlebar grips have multiple holes in the side, thanks to my falling off the bike. The area around the rear wheel is also really dirty, and that probably is bad for the paint.
One good thing about the snow is that it washes your bike for you, but dirt builds up really fast. Once the stores open, I’m going down and getting a rack, some wet lube (I think I don’t need to buy the special chain cleaning liquid). And perhaps if I’m feeling foolish enough, a pair of panniers. I don’t get why people buy panniers. Why don’t people just steal them off a parked bike? Or at least, the things in them? It just doesn’t make sense.
Okay, Adobe Updater wants me to insert the Acrobat CD. I’ll go upstairs… a good excuse to go upstairs and finally make some breakfast for myself and clean my bike while I’m at it.
