Boxing Day
I seem to have a habit lately of leaving this spanking new apartment to go out to town on my bike, leaving the dishes unwashed and things generally lying around.
The original plan for today was to go to school and leech like hell off the fast internet there, but I heard halfway there that today was Boxing Day, and apparently that meant 50% off like, everything. I said screw the internet, I’m going to get my PSP for 75CAD! Long story short it didn’t quite work out that way, and so after a long time I found myself trudging wearily back to UBC to find an open place hwere I could leech off the internet. I got into the Aquatic Centre and finally got myself some good old internet. I downloaded the 800MB ISO of Microsoft’s Visual Studio Express collection in 10 minutes, and found myself booted out, because they were closing. I was thinking of going to Gage to get more internet, but I remembered that some buses don’t let you use their bike racks after a certain hour, and so I left for home.
After spending more money at McDonald’s.
I’m too liberal with money. I even spent 33CAD on a Saitek P990 gamepad! It’s pretty awesome, a gamepad’s always a necessity for gamers and power users (controlling foobar2000 with it, oh yeah). I was about to spend 99 more on a 500GB backup drive too, but I managed to convince myself that wanting something just because it’s a good price and needing something are totally different things. In one way, I needed the gamepad more than I needed the hard drive (seriously, you can’t play Armored Core with ePSXe on the keyboard). I mean, what with Melty Blood Act Cadenza and all, it’s time to have some alternative input methods where you can duke it out with a friend without having to use the same keyboard, which doesn’t register the keypresses when you press more than 4 at the same time.
Come to think of it, I need to buy an arcade joystick next time.
EDIT: What the hell? Nero 7 just installed some Nero Search shit in my taskbar! Fuck this… it’s going off my computer right away.
