Back in Malaysia!
I stink (I can even smell my own odour), I’m sticky, and I just spilt Coke all over my laptop in KLIA’s Burger King. And my glasses are all clouded with body oil.
She’s wiping the Coke mess up right now, but I still feel icky.
So basically the reason I haven’t been posting much these days is basically my thoughts on stuff have become more and more simple to the point that there’s really nothing much to talk about. The girl on the plane. My parents inadvertently booking the plane that was one day earlier than they thought. Even though I’ve been here and about, deciding to not buy the Sun Ultra 2 (good, because I barely had enough space in my 2 suitcases) and wearing my friend’s clothes that he gave to me, and buying that new suitcase which was hard and generaly pretty useful, and worrying about those 10Krpm SCSI drives in it, I still haven’t felt inspired enough to write anything.
Hopefully that will change now that I’m in Malaysia. Walking through the airport, one side of my brain was going ‘Jesus, I’m finally back in Malaysia’ and the other side was going ‘What the fuck is this. Since when did you miss Malaysia’. I’m even looking forward to meeting my parents. Well, I still can’t write a whole post on what my brain halves are saying to each other at the moment, so let’s just wrap this up with the comment that my keyboard is feeling a little more sticky than before, and I have RM500 to spend on a handphone (goodbye, POS old handphone, thank you, Canadian Dollar).
The next day:
I feel like I’ve just stepped back into Hell. The new computer doesn’t start (turns out the Tagan PSU was borked, fancy that, and on top of that, the 40GB OS drive is totally comatose), the old computer has been replaced with an Aztech DSL605E (turns out it has pretty admirable Firewall capabilities, and UPnP on top of that), doesn’t remember which packages are installed in Arch Linux (so I have to reinstall), and we are poorer than ever thanks to UBC, and it shows every place I step in the goddamn house. Plus the internet is 200 times slower than the one in UBC Res. Not only that, they got really miffed because I didn’t bring back the textbooks. I never read them anyway, so what’s the big deal? I thought. I still think that. So yeah, every now and then they’ll bring that up to, I don’t know, fuck with me again, I suppose. Then they go over the ‘You are naive’ rhetoric. Over a few fucking books. Sure, they were expensive. But they were dead weight, and I needed the money because I didn’t want to ask you. So there. Really, nostalgia brings up the silliest notions in your head.
Redemption is available in the form of a WiFi contract that’s coming up next. I have to study up about wireless technologies. Sorry, but I don’t think I’ll be posting anything anytime soon. I’m going to be real busy, and even if I’m not, I won’t have anything deep to post.
