I don’t know why, but ‘in the scene’ conjures images of hip-hop-dressed blacks. Despite ‘the scene’ most likely consisting of skinny white males.

In any case, I met a guy in university who was the admin of a site called filenest. Basically, it’s a blog that follows the scene. He said he got fed up with rlslog when they got into it purely for the money. I don’t know how he can justify that, but it really doesn’t matter, because Filenest is pretty much the same site, I think. I really am not interested in slews of releases (on Rapidshare, of all places to host the files!) of new Hollywood movies, not to mention those games – I’m more of a retro, classic movie watcher – but what the hell, I’m responsible for the Tech News section, so there you go, read my article on Nehalem’s architecture. Someday, perhaps, I’ll put up some articles there on the basics of processor performance techniques.

Or should I put them up here? I don’t think so, because I think this blog isn’t all about that. It’s not ARSTechnica, where I hit F5 all the time to see when Jon ‘Hannibal’ Stokes’s latest article is coming. I don’t know what this blog is about (funny, I think I should know) but what I do know is that it’s not supposed to be chock full of editorial articles. I guess this is a place for me to rant and get on my soapbox and tell you guys about rare OSs at the same time, I suppose.

Have I lost my vision? Oh noes…
