technisch 1.2; web browsers

Well, it’s a minor update from your perspective, but I had to work damn hard on my style.css and comments.php to present this minor update to my theme. Recently I’ve been feeling that this theme is a bit too dark. Halfway through before screwing around with the banners (you’ll notice the overly bright ones as well as the photos taken by my CRAPPY camera are gone or colour shifted or darkened – I’m particularly proud of how the Higurashi one turned out) I tried my hand at making Internet Explorer render my page correctly.

Well as it turns out, not many browsers can handle transparent PNGs, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer being the main culprits (Chrome can blame it on Skia, IE can’t blame anybody else). Then there was the fact that those mouseover menus didn’t display just how I wanted them to… but then two minutes into reading about all the intricacies of IE7’s quirks and how to hack up a CSS minimum width that will work in IE7, I gave up. After all, IE7 was 4th in place, with Firefox 2, 3 and IE6 in front of it. So let’s all pretend that IE6 doesn’t exist, and move on with our happy worlds.

For all intents and purposes, Opera might as well be Firefox in disguise. It renders just like Firefox!

Google Chrome is turning out to be a very nice browser. I like its interface a lot. Now if it had Adblock and fixed that transparent PNG bug, I might consider making it my main browser. And believe me, it’s real hard to get me to convert from Firefox.

This theme was improved while listening to:

    Hey, if you have a D90, can you send it to me for free? I seriously want one – if you read carefully, you’ll see that I didn’t mention the D90 anywhere in this post. Oh, and include the lens too.

    And Opera == Firefox is not a joke. Well, as far as this site’s CSS is concerned.

    “Opera might as well be Firefox in disguise”

    this might be insulting to both Firefox and Opera software engineers..

    Opera != Firefox

    :(

    Safari = IE

    Naw…impossible. Webkit is different from Trident, anyway.

    LOL! XD
